Shanghai Government Officially Recommends Vitamin C for COVID-19
by Andrew W. Saul | OMNS Mar 3, 2020The government of Shanghai, China has announced its official recommendation that COVID-19 should be treated with high amounts of intravenous vitamin C.
Dosage recommendations vary with severity of illness, from 50 to 200 milligrams per kilogram body weight per day to as much as 200 mg/kg/day.
These dosages are approximately 4,000 to 16,000 mg for an adult, administered by IV. This specific method of administration is important, says intravenous therapy expert Atsuo Yanagisawa, MD, PhD, because vitamin C's effect is at least ten times more powerful by IV than if taken orally. Dr. Yanagisawa is president of the Tokyo-based Japanese College of Intravenous Therapy.
He says, "Intravenous vitamin C is a safe, effective, and broad-spectrum antiviral."https://riordanclinic.org/speaker-archive/atsuo-yanagisawa-md-phd/
Dr. Cheng and Dr. Yanagisawa both recommend oral vitamin C for prevention of COVID-19 infection.
An official statement from Xi'an Jiaotong University Second Hospital (2) reads:
"On the afternoon of February 20, 2020, another 4 patients with severe new coronaviral pneumonia recovered from the C10 West Ward of Tongji Hospital. In the past 8 patients have been discharged from hospital. . . [H]igh-dose vitamin C achieved good results in clinical applications. We believe that for patients with severe neonatal pneumonia and critically ill patients, vitamin C treatment should be initiated as soon as possible after admission. . .[E]arly application of large doses of vitamin C can have a strong antioxidant effect, reduce inflammatory responses, and improve endothelial function. . . Numerous studies have shown that the dose of vitamin C has a lot to do with the effect of treatment. . . [H]gh-dose vitamin C can not only improve antiviral levels, but more importantly, can prevent and treat acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress (ARDS)."

Vitamin C Protects Against Coronavirus

VITAMIN C HAS BEEN KNOWN TO CURE OVER 30 MAJOR DISEASES FOR OVER 70 YEARS
- If so, why haven't you heard more about it?
- Why haven't more doctors used Vitamin C as medicine?
- Why haven't more doctors used Vitamin C as medicine?
Progress takes time, unfortunately. Fresh fruit was known to cure scurvy by 1753, yet governments ignored the fact for nearly 100 years.
Countless thousands died in the meantime. The 19th century doctor who first advocated washing one's hands between patients died ignored and in disgrace with the medical profession. Toxic mercury was used as medicine into the twentieth century. And so it has been.
The first physician to aggressively use vitamin C to cure diseases was
Frederick R. Klenner, M.D. beginning back in the early 1940's.
Dr. Klenner consistently cured chicken pox, measles, mumps, tetanus and polio with huge doses of the vitamin. While vaccines are now available for these illnesses, please remember this was not the case in the 1940's.

Herpes Simplex
Mononucleosis
Pancreatitis
Hepatitis
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
Bladder Infection
Alcoholism
Arthritis
Some Cancers
Leukemia

Corneal Ulcer
Diabetes
Glaucoma
Schizophrenia

Radiation Burns
Heavy Metal Poisoning (Mercury, Lead), Venomous Bites (insects, snakes), Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic Fatigue, Complications of Surgery

This seems like an impossible list of vitamin C cures. At this point, you can either dismiss the subject or investigate further. Dr. Klenner chose to investigate.
The result?
He used massive doses of vitamin C for over forty years of family practice. He wrote dozens of medical papers on the subject. A complete list of them is in the Clinical Guide to the Use of Vitamin C, edited by Lendon H. Smith, M.D., Life Sciences Press, Tacoma, WA (1988).
It is difficult to ignore his success, but it has been done.
Dr. Klenner wrote: "Some physicians would stand by and see their patient die rather than use ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) because in their finite minds it exists only as a vitamin."
Said Dr. Klenner: "The ascorbic acid/kidney stone story is a myth."
Generally, he gave 350 to 700 mg per kilogram body weight per day. That is a lot of Vitamin C.
But then again, look at that list of successes.
Dr. Klenner emphasized that small amounts do not work.
He said, "If you want results, use adequate ascorbic acid (Vitamin C)."
Vitamin C is remarkably safe even in enormously high doses. Compared to commonly used prescription drugs, side effects are virtually nonexistent. It does not cause kidney stones. In fact, vitamin C increases urine flow and favorably lowers the pH to help keep stones from forming. William J. McCormick, M.D. used vitamin C since the late 1940's to prevent and treat kidney stones. Vitamin C does not significantly raise oxalate levels, and uric acid stones have never resulted from its use, either.
How much vitamin C is an effective therapeutic dose? Dr. Klenner gave up to 300,000 milligrams (mg) per day.

The Corona virus can be destroyed naturally?
Why is vitamin C so effective in killing viruses?
A primary way in which vitamin C destroys viruses, or sets them up for destruction by the immune system, is by activating the ‘Fenton reaction’.
In a nutshell, this reaction can proceed inside the virus, inside cells in which viruses are replicating, and on the surfaces of the viruses themselves. The result of this reaction that is stimulated by the presence of vitamin C, one or more transition metal cations, and the local presence of peroxide is the immediate production of hydroxyl radicals. These radicals are the most reactive oxidizing agents ever identified.
As such, they radically upregulate oxidative stress and end up destroying whatever is in their immediate environment.

Yet More Evidence for IV Vitamin C
On Tuesday, April, 4th, 2017 in IV Drip Therapy No Comments
There’s yet another study we can add to those we blogged about earlier this year, research showing how IV vitamin C can deliver big benefits in a variety of health situations.
A new study in Chest provides
good evidence that an IV cocktail of vitamin C, thiamine (vitamin B1),
and hydrocortisone may be extraordinarily effective for treating sepsis –
a deadly condition that occurs when the body’s response to an infection
damages its own organs.
The
study compared the clinical outcomes of 47 septic patients treated with
this cocktail during a 7-month period with those of 47 septic ICU
patients treated conventionally before the study began.
